Import Cost Data from Deltek Cobra or a Cost Data CSV File, and a Work Authorization Document (WAD)

Use the Import Cost Data wizard to import cost data from a Deltek Cobra data file or csv file, as well as a WAD.

Note: In order to import cost data from Cobra / .csv file and Work Authorization Document, the Deltek Cobra / Cost Data and WAD option on the Platforms (Deltek) page of the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box must be selected.

To import cost data from a Deltek Cobra data file / .csv file as well as a work authorization document (WAD), complete the following steps:

  1. If importing from Cobra, export the Deltek Cobra data file from Cobra (see the Cobra help for instructions).
  2. On the S1 // Projects tab, do one of the following:
    • In the Projects pane, right-click on the project and select Import Cost Data.
    • In the Get External Data From menu group, click Cost Data > Cost Data.
  3. On the first page of the Cost Data Import wizard, select:
    • Import cost data from and select either Deltek Cobra or Cost Data CSV.
    • Import Work Authorization Documents (WAD)
  4. Click Next.
  5. Browse to and select a cost data file. The cost data file must have a .dcde or .csv extension.
  6. Select the cost project that you want to import and click Next.
  7. Select the WBS, OBS, Work Package, and Control Account fields that map to the cost data.
    1. WBS/OBS — Select the fields that map to the cost data.
    2. Use WBS and OBS as Control Account Keys — If this check box is selected, the activity maps to a work package if the Work Package, WBS, and OBS fields all match. If the check box is not selected, the activity maps to a work package if the Work Package fields match, and the control account key fields match to the control account ID.
    3. Work Package — Select the field that maps to the cost data.
    4. Control Account — Select the field that maps to the cost data.
    5. Click Next.
  8. Browse to and select the work authorization document and click Next. The file that you import must have a .xls or .xlsx extension.
  9. Select the worksheet that contains the WAD information.
  10. Select the WAD column that matches the cost project control account ID and click Finish.

Acumen imports the cost data. The import progress displays at the bottom of the window.
